A little coffee house with deep local roots.

Since 2005, The Broken Paddle has been a little coffee house with deep roots in Metchosin. Located across from the old Metchosin School, and just steps from the Community Fire Hall and Fair Grounds, it has become a familiar gathering place on Happy Valley Road.

We serve organic, fair-trade coffee roasted here in Victoria, with espresso prepared on our two-group Cimbali. Our kitchen produces fresh baking from scratch every day, along with light lunches, homemade chai and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Rotating art shows, lively conversation and friendly faces give The Broken Paddle its character. Whether you are a longtime local, new to the community or exploring Metchosin’s galleries, parks and beaches, there is always a place for you here.
